Rest is crucial to adaptation and progression – most of us know that. However, the statement leaves a lot of questions unanswered, such as how many days off a week are advised, and what exactly constitutes rest.
The (often mis-)perception is that cycling is reserved for those advancing in years, but on rare days you might catch a glimpse of the mythical creature – a cyclist in their mid-20s. While running around interviewing pros at a recent cycling event, a flattering member of the public asked “are you training to be a journalist?”, to which I responded “no, I am one.”
